Soon we’ll be setting off on the romantic road. No, that isn’t a euphemism.
We’re packing up (the squash is firmly in the suitcase) and making our way to Bavaria over the next few weeks, stopping by Dusselfdorf, Baden Baden, Heidelberg, Triberg, Freiberg (yes, all the bergs), Lake Constance before the final destination of Fussen. It’s going to be a road trip of epic proportions, hopefully the Spotify playlist will keep us entertained!
800 km later and we hoped to have;
- Visited the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang castle, or what’s better known as Neuschwanstein
- Sampled the micro breweries of Dusseldorf
- Braved the rollercoasters at Europa Park
- Cycled around Lake Constance (well, part of it, my legs aren’t ready to cycle to Switzerland)
- Hurtled down the mountain at Zugspitze
- Hiked up the Triberg Waterfall, shoes permitting
And, the activity I’m most looking forward to. Sampling alot of Black Forest Gateaux, or Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte.
